Akira sets off for Toshima not knowing that his best friend Keisuke is following him there in the hope to help him out, when Akira gets there he starts to learn about various stuff like the mysterious drug called line, The elusive Shiki, his own past and what lies within his blood. The story of this anime revolves around Akira who is the undefeated champion of a street fighting competition known as When he gets murder charges pinned on him he is visited by the mysterious emma who offers him a deal to participate in the igura tournament (where it is kill or be killed) and kill Il Rey. There, the head of the syndicate, Il Rey, has convened the battle game “Igura.” Meanwhile, Akira, falsely accused of a crime, has made a deal to earn his pardon: go to Toshima, defeat Il Rey, and destroy the syndicate. Several years after the end of the war, the city of Toshima has fallen into decay and been taken over by the crime syndicate Viscio.
